#GivingTuesdayNow: Join the Global Movement for Unity, Community & Change!

The Coronavirus pandemic has changed everything – how we live our lives, how we interact with one another, and how we see the world. Every day we’re forced to deal with fluctuating numbers of cases, ever-changing safety precautions, and new ways of living and working. But through all of this disorienting change, one group that can easily be overlooked are our teens.

Even under normal circumstances, teenagers have to constantly contend with so much pressure, so many challenges, and so many negative influences. But now, with schools closed, seemingly horrifying news flooding our social media, and a global pandemic with no clear end in sight – our teenagers need us now more than ever.

Giving Tuesday Now: A Time for Unity

Giving Tuesday was started in 2012, as a way to unite and inspire people from around the world, to give back and support nonprofit organizations they truly care about. Normally, this international day of charitable giving happens on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. But this year, because of the massive effect of Covid-19 around the world, another day has been added. This May 5th, #GivingTuesdayNow is a new global day dedicated to unity, compassion and giving back to the people that need it most.

Fighting for Our Teens

At Tilly’s Life Center, we’ve always been committed to helping our teens cope with crises, overcome the pressures they face every day, and unlock the best within themselves. Through our nonprofit educational programs, we promote healthy habits while filling teens with confidence and motivation. To promote the safety and well-being of our teens as well as their families, we’ve moved all of our social and emotional classes to virtual workshops, and offer them to students free of charge. These workshops teach teens to deal with stress, anxiety, negativity, isolation and fear in a healthy, productive way.

What You Can Do

During the #GivingTuesdayNow event, we’re asking for donations to help us continue to provide today’s teens with the emotional and psychological support they need – now more than ever. Whether you’d like to donate $5 or $500, all contributions are appreciated. To make a donation, visit tillyslifecenter.org/donate.
