POSITION SUMMARY

 

The principle function of a Lead Facilitator is to support students while guiding them through their personal social and emotional learning experience. The Lead Facilitator will teach TLC’s “I Am Me” curriculum and engage students through interactive curriculum, supportive instruction, and personal attention. The Lead Facilitator will bring an understanding of social-emotional learning and emotional wellness strategies to the classroom. The Lead Facilitator will personally practice the core competencies – “walk the talk”. The Lead Facilitator will work mostly with pre-teens, teens, and young adults, so a desire and ability to work with this population is required.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Teaching and Facilitation:

  • Directly deliver SEL lessons to students through engaging and interactive methods. This includes leading discussions, facilitating group activities, and employing experiential learning techniques to help students grasp SEL concepts.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to best support implementation of the curriculum and student success.
  • Coordinate weekly with Co-Facilitator to review a portion of the upcoming week’s lesson. Lead Facilitator will provide Assistant Facilitator feedback at the end of each lesson, if applicable.

 

Training and Supporting:

  • Provide training and ongoing support to teachers and other staff in the effective delivery of the SEL curriculum. This could involve conducting professional development workshops and coaching sessions and providing resources for integrating SEL into everyday classroom activities.

 

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Assess the effectiveness of the SEL curriculum and its impact on students’ social and emotional growth. This may include using provided evaluation tools, collecting data, and making suggestions about adjustments to the curriculum based on feedback and outcomes.

 

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with teachers, school counselors, and administrators (as applicable) to promote a whole-school approach to social-emotional learning. Collaboration is key to creating a supportive environment that reinforces the SEL curriculum.

 

Advocacy and Awareness:

  • Promote the importance of social-emotional learning within the school community and beyond. This might involve organizing events, delivering presentations, and producing materials that highlight the benefits of SEL for students’ academic and personal development.

 

Creating a Safe Learning Environment:

  • Ensure that all activities and discussions are conducted in a safe, respectful, and confidential manner, providing a space where students feel comfortable sharing and participating.

 

Continuous Learning:

  • Attend regularly scheduled team trainings. Stay abreast of the latest research and developments in social-emotional learning and adapt the curriculum and teaching methods accordingly. Continuous professional development is crucial in this evolving field.

 

Resource Management:

  • Ensure that all the necessary resources and supports are in place to effectively implement the curriculum. This involves managing materials, tools, and technologies, as well as providing guidance on their effective use.

 

Fostering Inclusivity and Respect:

  • Encourage an environment that respects diversity and promotes inclusivity, ensuring that all students feel valued and understood within the SEL program.

 

Communication:

  • Communicate needs, challenges, successes, and updates related to the program. Articulate needed support, resources, and recognition as applicable.
    Report any challenges, concerns, or issues related to students immediately with Supervisor.

 

Community and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Foster strong relationships with the broader school community and external stakeholders. Attend and/or organize events, including nights and weekends as applicable. Participate in community outreach meetings, events, and conversations and ensure the program positively impacts not just students but also the wider community.

 

Collaboration and Organizational Support:

  • Supporting other projects, events, or meetings as requested/needed.
  • Be available to assist with additional tasks that fall outside the regular set of responsibilities but are important for the overall success and functioning of the organization or program.
  • This could include helping to organize special events, participating in community outreach efforts, contributing to various projects that require cross-functional collaboration, or attending meetings to provide input or support on matters related to one’s area of expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or a minimum of 3 years of student-facing experience is required. Preferred BA/BS degree in human services, education, psychology, or sociology.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

Dynamic and collaborative mission-driven environment primarily Monday through Friday in the office, at schools and other nonprofit organizations, with occasional evening and weekend commitments for events and meetings. Travel may be required for community outreach and partnership development.

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Director of Development will lead all fundraising and partnership efforts at TLC, playing a key role in the organization’s financial growth and sustainability. This leader will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes individual giving, major gifts, corporate partnerships, foundation grants, and events. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Fundraising Strategy & Execution:

  • Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan to meet revenue goals through individual donations, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, and special events.
  • Identify new opportunities for donor engagement and revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors to set annual fundraising targets.
  • Research and manage the full grant lifecycle, including application, reporting, and stewardship.

 

Corporate & Donor Cultivation:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with individual donors and corporate sponsors, ensuring proper recognition, engagement, and long-term partnerships.
  • Proactively identify, solicit, and secure corporate sponsorships for key programs, events, and initiatives at TLC.
  • Create targeted outreach strategies to attract prospective donors and business partners, including foundations and community leaders.

Event Management & Special Campaigns:

  • Lead targeted fundraising campaigns (capital campaigns, direct mail appeals, and online giving) to increase individual and corporate contributions.
  • Leverage community and corporate events to raise awareness and engage new supporters.

 

Communications & Marketing:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling fundraising materials such as sponsorship packages, donor newsletters, appeals, and the annual report.
  • Ensure that messaging about TLC’s mission, impact, and goals is consistently shared across all donor and corporate communications.
  • Promote TLC’s events and initiatives, especially in partnership with corporate sponsors and community partners.

 

Board & Volunteer Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Development Committee of the Board of Directors, providing tools, resources, and support for fundraising initiatives.
  • Work with board members and volunteers to cultivate donor relationships and secure corporate partnerships.
  • Manage a team of volunteers and ambassadors to assist with fundraising efforts, particularly for events and community engagement.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. CFRE or Exhibition Management (CEM) certification preferred.

 

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in nonprofit development, with a proven track record in fundraising, donor relationships, corporate partnerships, and meeting revenue goals. Demonstrated experience in cultivating major donors and corporate sponsors. Strong grant writing experience, including the ability to secure foundation funding preferred.
